Description
Amazon is seeking to hire a VAT Planning Manager focused on e-invoicing, e-reporting, and related transaction controls/reporting. The role reports to the EMEA Retail VAT Director and is part of the wider EMEA VAT Planning team, with a specific focus on these areas.
E-invoicing and e-reporting models are expanding globally, providing a strategic opportunity to be at the forefront of this critical business area. We are looking for an experienced tax manager who has previously advised on e-invoicing implementations.
This position may be based in London or Warsaw, with regular travel to other locations.
Key Responsibilities
* Collaborate with VAT Policy and E-Invoicing Compliance teams to monitor legislative developments such as the EU’s ViDA program and other country-specific changes.
* Analyze laws and guidance to create comprehensive Tax Requirements Documents and briefing materials.
* Coordinate with teams like Tax Engine, FinOps, Operations, and Finance to implement requirements.
* Assist with project management of e-invoicing implementation projects in partnership with the EIC team.
* Support other VAT Planning activities as capacity allows.
Basic Qualifications
* Minimum five years of professional VAT experience in a global consulting, accounting, law firm, or in-house indirect tax team of a multinational corporation.
* Experience with e-invoicing projects or tax technology such as tax engines, with a solid understanding of processes and controls.
* Strong analytical skills to interpret complex laws and guidance and assess their impact on Amazon’s operations.
* Excellent communication skills, capable of translating complex legal guidance into clear operational requirements.
* Proven ability to build effective relationships with partner teams.
Preferred Qualifications
A relevant law degree, accounting, or tax qualification is preferred but not mandatory if the candidate demonstrates appropriate experience and knowledge.
