Description Who we’re looking for We're looking for an Assistant Portfolio Manager to join our Wealth Management division known as Cazenove Capital, which is part of the Schroders group. Someone who is passionate about delivering excellent client service and investment management for our clients. We want someone who can work alongside our Portfolio Managers, with the desire and curiosity to learn their job as well as your own. You'll do it by getting to grips with the analysis, checks and balances that keep our clients' portfolios in great shape. You'll be busy, hands-on and can-do. Learning your way around the foundations of investment. Tuning in to clients' needs and keeping Portfolio Managers informed and up to date. What you’ll do Support Portfolio Managers and Directors to manage clients' portfolios in line with their investment wishes, our rules and the regulations whilst developing relationships of trust Be a point of contact for clients, react to all enquires in a timely manner and maintain a record of responses Help to plan, organise and attend client meetings Take responsibility for preparing client material including meeting packs and reports Help to manage our account opening process for new clients and additional portfolios for existing clients Take part in external fund manager meetings and internal investment meetings across Schroders Help with assessing portfolio suitability and performance Carry out trades in client portfolios in line with instructions and investment recommendations Handle administrative duties promptly, including checking clients' transaction statements and monitoring outstanding deals Keep colleagues informed about clients' portfolios, reporting any changes, queries or problems Participate in our industry leading, in-house presentation programme Maintain and update your knowledge through continual professional development (CPD) Be supported in seeking to achieve professional qualifications (RDR level 7), such as CISI Level 7 Chartered Wealth Manager qualification, which includes 10 days of study leave and sponsored courses Embody the core Schroders' values of Excellence, Innovation, Teamwork, Passion and Integrity in all aspects of your work. Additional Role Details This Assistant Portfolio Manager (APM) position reports directly to the Portfolio Director and you will work closely alongside one Client Service Executive (CSE) within the team. The role suits someone who is client-focused, with a genuine interest in investment management and strong relationship-building skills. There are no business development (BD) targets; your focus will be entirely on supporting and servicing clients. Investment knowledge and an interest in client needs are essential. Client contact will primarily be by phone and email, with occasional face-to-face meetings. Over time, you will have the opportunity to ‘own’ your own client relationships and develop as a trusted adviser. Standard professional career exams are supported as part of your progression. Annual in-depth client reviews take place at least once every three years, ensuring high service standards.
