Description Job Type: Permanent Location: This role could be based in either our London, Birmingham, Telford or Edinburgh offices with time spent working in the office and at home. Flexible working: All of our roles are open to part-time, job-share and other types of flexibility. The role To oversee the Finance division, ensuring risks such as People, Change Management, Governance are effectively identified, assessed, mitigated and reported. The role is critical to promote informed decision making and controlled risk-taking that improves customer outcomes and delivers long term value for shareholders. Supporting the implementation and oversight of the Group’s Risk Management Framework and partner with the Senior business stakeholders including ExCo members. Who are we? Responsibilities In conjunction with aligned Head of Operational Risk, drive the implementation of an effective Risk Management Framework for the Group to identify, measure, monitor, manage and report on the risks to which the Group and its customers are exposed Business Partnering support on all Operational Risk in financial risk areas, including Financial reporting and control. Provide advice, guidance and challenge to the business on Risk Management Framework (Risks and Control Environment, Risk Policies, Risk Reporting and wider elements including Risk Appetite and KRIs. Provide L2 opinion and perform risk assessment related to rolling out of financial reporting frameworks and controls Influence key stakeholders across the Group and externally level to drive positive risk outcomes and gain buy-in on risk management initiatives. Promote effective challenge and ensuring that independent risk opinions are provided to the Business stakeholders or appropriate decision making body on the implications of all proposals that could materially change the risk exposure of the Group Promote strong risk culture in which the Risk Management Framework is valued and embedded, the identification and management of risks to customers is central to decision making and key judgements and assumptions are transparent. Ability to navigate ambiguous situations, drive decision making, manage change, and learn quickly in a multifaceted business environment. Develop the Risk Managers in the Operational Risk oversight team Essential Criteria Previous experience working in Treasury, cash management or financial reporting function would be beneficial Understanding of GAAP, IFRS, and regulatory standards, and supports strategic decision-making through insightful financial analysis. Proactively initiating and delivering impactful pieces of risk work. Maintaining effective cross-functional networks and engagement. Acts as deputy to the Head of Operational Risk when required. Operates independently across complex, concurrent risk activities. We want to hire the whole version of you.
