SEND Teaching Assistant
Pay: £88.92 – £95 per day (dependent on payroll selection)
Contract Type: Full-time, long-term only
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Start Date: September 2025
Are you passionate about inclusive education and helping young people with additional needs thrive? New Directions is recruiting a committed SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive mainstream secondary school in West Kirby this September.
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing individualised learning support for a new cohort of students across multiple year groups. Pupils may have moderate learning difficulties (MLD), including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Dyslexia, and other additional learning needs.
This role is ideal for candidates who want to gain hands-on classroom experience, contribute to differentiated learning, and support the holistic development of young people in West Kirby.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide 1:1 interventions and small group support as a SEND Teaching Assistant to ensure accessibility and progress
2. Implement strategies to promote positive behaviour for learning
3. Adapt resources and activities to meet individual learning profiles
4. Build strong, supportive relationships to encourage student engagement and resilience
5. Work in collaboration with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff to deliver inclusive practice
What We’re Looking For:
6. A caring, empathetic individual with strong communication skills
7. Someone passionate about removing barriers to learning
8. Flexibility, adaptability, and willingness to learn
9. Previous experience in education or SEND is desirable but not essential—full training provided
