This Waking Night Support Worker role supports young people with EBD (Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties) in a stable, Ofsted Good environment. As a Waking Night Children’s Residential Support Worker, you’ll provide calm, consistent care throughout the night, ensuring safety, emotional wellbeing, and positive routines for young people in children’s residential care. Key Responsibilities * Provide safe, nurturing overnight care in line with Children’s Homes Regulations * Support young people with EBD during distress or disruption at night * Monitor wellbeing, safeguarding, and emotional needs * Complete cleaning tasks and maintain high household standards * Promote independence, positive behaviour, and routine * Complete logs, reports, and handovers accurately * Work closely with the wider children’s residential team Shift Pattern & Pay * 09.30pm – 07.30am waking night shifts * Week 1: 4 shifts | Week 2: 3 shifts (2‑week rota) * Salary: £23,132 – £24,206 (average 35 hours) * Sleep‑in rate: £71.20 per sleep * Overtime: £12.71 – £13.30 per hour * Additional overtime including day shifts available Training & Progression This provider is committed to long‑term development within children’s residential care: Full induction and ongoing CPD NVQ Level 3 or 4 funded Progression into Senior Support Worker roles About You This role suits both experienced and new Waking Night Support Workers with the right values.
