Senior Java Engineer – Actuarial Data Squad – Outside IR35 - Contract
We’re looking for a Senior Java Engineer to join a high-profile project focused on backend systems that automate complex financial and actuarial processes. This is a hands-on role delivering backend solutions under tight deadlines in a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop backend systems and APIs in Java, using the Spring ecosystem
* Work with AWS and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Helm
* Design and implement scalable, production-ready systems for complex financial processes
* Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to align solutions with operational needs
* Support discovery and proof-of-concept work to validate technical approaches
Key Skills:
* Strong experience with the Spring ecosystem
* Solid knowledge of AWS and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or Helm
* Comfortable working in large, regulated, or secure corporate environments
* Ability to deliver hands-on backend solutions for complex financial and actuarial workflows under tight deadlines
Rate: DOE, outside IR35
Location: Fully remote, UK-based
Duration: 6-month rolling contract with potential extensions
