We are currently recruiting for a Hospitality Assistantto join our team at one of our conference venuesin Birmingham B1.
This is a casual/zero hour contract. Shifts will be on a rota basis, starting as early as 5:30am.
As a Hospitality Assistantyou’ll play a key role in delivering exceptional service across a wide range of events—from conferences and banquets to receptions and private functions. Working closely with our Hospitality Managers, you’ll help bring events to life by preparing spaces, delivering high-quality food and beverage service, and ensuring every guest feels welcome.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare event spaces in line with detailed briefs, including layout, equipment, and catering.
* Serve food and drinks, ensuring all dietary needs are met with care and professionalism.
* Maintain clean, safe, and welcoming environments throughout event areas.
* Greet and assist guests with courtesy and professionalism.
* Support event delivery through ushering, bar work, and general hospitality tasks.
* Set up and dismantle rooms before and after events, restoring them to standard layouts.
* Handle basic kitchen and service tasks, including preparing hot drinks and light refreshments.
* Wash, dry, and store crockery and service equipment post-event.
* Cash up and reconcile tills when required.
* Follow all event protocols and operational guidelines.
* Support company policies including health & safety, customer care, equality, and data protection.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
* Have experience working in a similar role and environment
* Be highly organised and comfortable working in a high-pressured environment
* Ensure you have high standards of food hygiene and follow the rules of health and safety
* Keep up standards of hygiene and ensure all areas are clean and tidy
* Have excellent customer service and social skills
* Be responsible for the preparation and serving of food to staff
* Have a can do attitude and will work well as part of a team of 15
* Be customer focused
* Be willing to participate and enjoy working part of the team
