Hythe Medical Centre are looking for a Reception Lead to support our hard working team of receptionist, administrators and medical secratories.
The role will consist of working front of house and undertaking reception/administrative duties as well as having dedicated management time.
Main duties of the job
In addition to undertaking reception/admin duties:
* Overseeingthe administration and support operations of the practice, ensuring staffachieve their primary responsibilities
* Linemanaging all administrative staff, supporting staff development, providingguidance and direction and appraisals and ensuring staff are up to date with mandatory training
* Identifyingand delivering team training where required
* Compilingadministration staff rotas and managing overtime
* Reviewingand updating all administrative and reception policies and procedures asrequired
* Supportingthe management team in the compilation of practice reports and the practicedevelopment plan
* Developing,implementing and embedding efficient office processes
* Actingas a focal point for the practice managing requests from external organisationssuch as the local police, solicitors, DVLA and other agencies
* Coordinatingthe provision of temporary administrative and reception staff, ensuringsufficient cover is provided
* Updatingthe appointment system to reflect leave and other approved absences
* Providinginitial guidance to patients who wish to verbally complain
* Managingall deliveries to the practice, ensuring adherence to the cold chain policy asnecessary
* Acting as building fire marshal
* Manage opening and closing logs
* Prepare and manage room cleaning sheets
* Manage huddle template for weekly circulation with input from clinicians

To be responsible for the efficient managementand direction of the reception team, ensuring all administrative duties areperformed effectively and to the required standard, meeting the objectives ofthe practice.

Person Specification
Experience
* Previous reception or admin or med sec work in a GP Practice
* Ability to use EMIS
* Experience of managing a team
