Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join our Revenues and Benefits Systems Support team and provide assistance in supporting all operational functions within the Revenues and Benefits Service to meet Business objectives as outlined in the Service and Operational Plans.
Main duties include but are not limited to:
* Providing specialised support for the IT systems used by the Revenues & Benefits service and its customers, including running business processes to ensure system operation.
* Testing new functionalities within Revenues & Benefits systems.
* Investigating, logging, tracking, diagnosing, resolving, or escalating system issues.
* Conducting audit checks on daily batch processes, output, and financial reconciliation, liaising with support providers to resolve issues promptly.
This role is exempt under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act; appointment is conditional upon a satisfactory DBS check.
Candidate Profile
We seek someone with extensive knowledge of legislation such as Benefits, Council Tax, and Business Rates. Ideally, candidates will have specialist knowledge of Housing Benefits.
You should possess excellent IT skills, be able to communicate effectively at various levels, be organised, self-motivated, and capable of problem-solving and analyzing complex data. The ability to work independently and as part of a team, meet deadlines, learn new skills, and adapt to team needs is essential.
Applicants must include in their personal statement examples demonstrating:
* Experience or understanding of Housing Benefits or Revenues and Benefits services.
* High-level ICT knowledge and experience.
* Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Ability to manage conflicting priorities and deadlines under pressure.
