As part of their continued growth, they are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their high-performingmercial team.
This is a full-time permanent position based out of their Derby office.
Your new role
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in themercial management and contract administration of multiple projects. Reporting to themercial Manager, you will work closely with operational teams and subcontractors, ensuring successful project delivery through robust cost control, contract negotiation and risk management.Key responsibilities include:
1. Reviewing contract terms and supporting risk register development
2. Leading budget, forecast and CVR production
3. Preparing valuations, final accounts and tracking project costs
4. Supporting contract variation assessments and dispute resolution
5. Attending client meetings and negotiating contract terms
6. Conducting project progress reviews and reporting findings
7. Assisting with tendering and implementingmercial systems
8. Driving continuous improvement through post-contract analysis.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful, you must have:
9. A degree/HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying (or similar) or experience equivalent
10. Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role within heavy civils
11. Sound working knowledge of NEC form of contract
12. Excellent negotiation, interpersonal and organisational skills
13. Full UK driving licence.
