Mental Health Support Worker

About the Role
Recovery-focused support to clients with mental health across the EEDMHS. At Salvation Army Homes we are dedicated to providing comprehensive, good quality housing services, support and resettlement.
Responsibilities
* Support and accompany clients to attend essential appointments (e.g., health, debts, housing).
* Advises clients to access information on housing, health, welfare, benefits and other resources.
* Assist with medication, where required.
* Actively engage residents in developing the service.
* Help assess potential new clients.
* Liaise with external agencies, including Health Professionals.
* Help manage any incidents or challenging behaviour.
* Develop person‑centred Support Plans and Risk Management Plans and keep accurate records.
Candidate Attributes
* Working knowledge of the needs and support requirements of people with complex mental health needs or experience working in social care.
* Excellent communicator, building trusting and professional relationships.
* Passionate about making a difference and thriving in a fast‑paced environment.
* High resilience and ability to empower people to develop their skills, strengths and talents.
* Good knowledge of available community resources and organisations.
* Comfortable dealing with difficult or complex situations.
* Experience in mental health support, education, training and/or leading activities.
* Availability to participate in a 24‑hour shift rota and on‑call rota.
