My client are a leading manufacturer and supplier of water and chemical collection products for the UK and European markets. Working closely with their client base, they design and innovate through new product development to ensure top quality products and compliance with industry standards.
As a privately owned business, they have a proud record of enhancing and developing their staff through training and have promoted many individuals through the system to the roles they sit in today. Your role as Logistics Planner is key to ensuring their customers receive their orders on time, in full. Working closely with the wider team, you will plan all deliveries in a time efficient manner, maintaining a focus on budget ensuring maximum profitability, and completing all paperwork accurately.
Your main job purposes will include, but not be limited to
* To efficiently plan the daily deliveries ( including wide loads ) of all customer orders using our own transport and third-party hauliers.
* Plan delivery routes in line with driver hours, ensuring their routes are achievable.
* Ensure all quotations from third party hauliers are value for money and meet within department/order budgets and constraints
* Raise all POs as per company requirements for any third-party transportation and follow all procedures for signing off.
* Plan all deliveries to be received by the customer on or before the order promised date.
* Allow for last-minute changes to planned routes as and when they occur, due to cancellations and urgent orders etc.
* Ensure all wide loads routes are planned in line with best practice and the wide load notice is completed in good time for delivery on the planned day.
* Complete all required processes and paperwork to ensure the smooth delivery of all export, working with third party hauliers.
Ideally you will have 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role within a manufacturing or logistics business, or within the haulage sector and be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills at interview. Strong knowledge of Drivers Legislation around hours is required, with a CPC preferred but not essential.
Working Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm, my client offers a competitive starting rate with the chance to develop your skill set through training available.
