Role Overview
This fixed-term role is for an advanced clinical pharmacist with leadership and clinical expertise to guide the mental health pharmacy team within West Lothian HSCP, based at St John’s Hospital, covering adult and older adult mental health specialties. The role involves service delivery, development activities, care transfer processes, community services such as clozapine clinics, and mental health law adherence.
Key responsibilities include providing pharmaceutical care to vulnerable patients, medication reviews, medicines information, high-dose antipsychotic monitoring, adherence to the Mental Health Act, and patient/carer education.

Candidate Profile
We seek an experienced pharmacist with a background in clinical practice, ideally in mental health, with leadership skills and service development experience. The candidate should be registered with the GPhC, be an independent prescriber, and hold or be working towards a postgraduate qualification in clinical pharmacy. Demonstrating engagement with the RPS Core Advanced Curriculum and active participation in professional networks is essential.
