About The Role

As a Sourcing Officer within the Design, Commissioning and Procurement Team you’ll play a vital role in helping us deliver change across the agenda for Babies, Children, Young People and families – including sourcing independent residential or fostering placements for Babies, Children and Young People who need them, specialist education placements for Children and Young People with additional needs, specialist transport services, and specialist support services for Children and Young People on the edge of care.

You will also help ensure that our payments to provider partners run smoothly. As a member of the Sourcing and Payments team in Children and Families Directorate, you will work closely with internal clients such as Children’s Social Care and Specialist Education clients, build relationships with independent providers to ensure that we have a keen understanding of markets, respond quickly to requests to formalise placement contracts, ensure robust quality checking and value for money, and maintain a prompt and efficient payment schedule with providers.

This role sits within a team in our Partnerships, Commissioning and Assurance division and will report to the Sourcing and Payments Lead. It is a vital and valued role within the team, and this is reflected in the training and development opportunities available to the successful candidate.

You will be highly organised and self‑motivated, with the ability to prioritise workload effectively. You will enjoy being part of a wider team and also be comfortable taking ownership of tasks. You will have recent experience of working to deadlines effectively. You will work with honesty and integrity and be committed to ensuring that Babies, Children, Young People and families have the strengths, assets and services that they need to thrive.
