Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs? A welcoming primary school in Southampton is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team full-time. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young learners.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEN
2. Assist in delivering tailored learning activities under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO
3. Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
4. Support pupils’ emotional, social, and academic development
5. Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals
Requirements:
6. Experience working with children, ideally in an educational or SEN setting
7. Understanding of SEN such as autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties
8. Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
9. Strong communication and teamwork skills
10. A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
Desirable:
11. Experience in Key Stage 1 or 2
12. Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support
