Role Description
Full‑time on‑site position based in Derby for a Senior Residential Care Worker. Your role will include overseeing and supporting young people in their day‑to‑day lives, ensuring their safety, well‑being, and personal development. Responsibilities involve creating individualized care plans, leading activities to promote life skills, collaborating with team members to provide a consistent approach to care, serving as a role model and mentor, and implementing policies and procedures that align with the home’s mission and goals.
Qualifications
* Experience in providing residential care services and supporting children or young people with behavioural, emotional, and social difficulties.
* Strong communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships with residents and team members.
* Problem‑solving abilities, leadership skills, and capacity to manage challenging situations constructively.
* Understanding of relevant laws, policies, and safeguarding regulations related to caring for young people.
* Relevant qualifications in childcare, social work, or related fields (e.g., NVQ Level 3 Residential Childcare or equivalent).
* Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and ability to contribute to the safe and inclusive environment of the home.
* Experience working in a leadership or supervisory role in residential care settings is an advantage.
