NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

This is a part time 18.5 hour post worked Monday to Friday and is fixed term for 12 months.

Please note that the salary is pro rata for part time hours.

About CMOP:

The Cancer Medicines Outcomes Programme has been funded by the Scottish Government to understand the outcomes of cancer treatments for patients in Scotland, enabling patients and clinicians to make better informed treatment decisions, in line with Realistic Medicine. This is a national programme involving collaborating with Public Health Scotland to explore opportunities to embed this work in routine practice, alongside stakeholders such as the Scottish Cancer Network, Scottish Medicines Consortium and National Cancer Medicines Advisory Group.

The Post/ Candidate:

We are looking for enthusiastic and dynamic individual(s) to join the Cancer Medicines Outcomes Programme to build on the progress and momentum to transition towards a business as usual model. Whilst the post is appointed by NHS GGC remote working is a possibility and applications are welcome from across Scotland. This is an excellent opportunity for either an experienced pharmacist to develop a new range of skills that would support the advanced practice curriculum or an earlier stage pharmacist looking to gain a different perspective/experience.

The postholder(s) will be responsible for providing leadership and delivery of objectives to develop the SACT intelligence in Scotland. This will include leading on specific cancer medicines intelligence reporting, conducting analysis, writing protocols and reports and engaging with stakeholders.

The ideal candidate(s) will have significant cancer experience and knowledge of SACT governance, excellent communication and negotiation skills, will be experienced in working collaboratively with senior colleagues and clinicians within Health Boards, Regional Networks and National Groups.

This is an exciting and challenging role that requires excellent skills in leadership and managing change in a complex, and dynamic environment. Applicants must be able to work autonomously and in a self-directed way, and be adaptable and amenable to rapid change in priority, approach or focus in order to effectively work with our key stakeholders.

If you are applying for this post as a secondment, please ensure you have the support of your line manager before submitting your application.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a PVG Scheme/Disclosure Scotland check. Any candidate who has lived/worked overseas for more than 12 months in the preceding 5 years will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency.

Candidates must have The General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) registration at the time of applying.

Location and Working Pattern:

Various base locations can be considered for this role as a hybrid working model is currently in place.

We would welcome applications from all interested candidates and will consider part-time / job-share or secondment arrangements. Please dont hesitate to get in touch to discuss the role and any potential working arrangements.

It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NHS.

Benefits:

Our benefits package includes pension scheme, comprehensive range of work life balance policies, occupational health services, learning resource centres and discounted leisure, financial and shopping benefits.
