Job Title: Class 1 Driver
Great Bear (part of the Culina Group) provides distribution services to FMCG clients. We are recruiting for full-time, permanent Class 1 Drivers at our Desborough site.
Shift Details:
* Monday-Friday nights, 19:00 - 23:00 starts
* Salary: £14.89 - £16.89 per hour (depending on shift pattern and start times)
Responsibilities:
1. Report to the Transport Coordinator at the start of each shift.
2. Ensure correct and thorough completion of paperwork.
3. Follow company rules and procedures, including health, safety, and hygiene standards.
4. Maintain knowledge of transport operations.
5. Uphold high standards of behaviour and appearance.
6. Manage working time in accordance with the Road Transport Directive.
7. Adhere to tachograph rules and regulations.
8. Complete daily vehicle checks as per company procedures.
9. Responsible for unit and trailer, including temperature checks.
10. Make professional deliveries to customer premises.
11. Report any issues with deliveries promptly.
12. Ensure proof of deliveries (PODs) are signed and returned.
13. Maintain communication with the Transport Office/Customer Services.
14. Follow site procedures at each delivery point.
15. Complete defect reports when required.
16. Achieve fuel efficiency targets.
Minimum Requirements:
* Two years of Class 1 driving experience.
* Possession of LGV Class C+E Licence, CPC, and valid Tacho card.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently.
* Adaptable, methodical, and reliable approach.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Knowledge of Road Transport Directive and drivers' hours regulations.
