Trading Underwriter - Salary is competitive depending on experience
Location – Bristol
We are currently looking for an experienced Trading Underwriter to join the Aviva business.
As a Trading Underwriter, you will be responsible for servicing brokers, underwriting new business, renewals, and MTAs. This role is ideal for someone with a broking or underwriting background who is passionate about developing their career.
You will be aligned with a portfolio of brokers and customers to proactively develop and profitably grow their commercial book of business. Partnering with brokers and customers to understand their needs, using data insights to provide comprehensive customer solutions.
This role requires travel to broker visits across the South West, so flexibility is essential.
About the job:
1. Operate as a multiclass underwriter within guidelines to grow the business profitably.
2. Build confidence and relationships through face-to-face meetings with brokers and/or customers.
3. Manage the end-to-end process for brokers’ and customers’ books of business.
4. Align with Aviva's regional SME & Mid Market trading strategy.
5. Develop understanding of the commercial business sector.

Skills and experience required:
* Previous property & liability and/or fleet underwriting experience.
* Ability to analyze risks and communicate effectively with brokers and customers.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a large organization.
* Knowledge of FCA regulations and relevant legislation.
* Strong commercial acumen to create and present business cases.
