We are seeking a replacement Gastroenterologist at Eastbourne District General Hospital. The post-holder will lead specific duties as part of developing a multi-disciplinary team approach within the specialty.
The ideal candidate should have a special interest in Gastroenterology and will join a department that has recently increased staffing of full-time consultants, with further expansion planned. Sub-specialisation is encouraged; therefore, developing interests such as advanced endoscopy, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, or hepatology is desirable. There is ongoing work to establish a 7-day service in Gastroenterology and Endoscopy, and the new post-holder will contribute to its development and operation.
The appointee may occasionally cover endoscopy lists and clinics at an alternate site and may undertake duties at other hospital sites managed by the Trust, including Bexhill, Uckfield, and Rye.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will be managerially and professionally accountable to the Clinical Unit Lead. A formal job plan, indicating programmed activities, will be agreed upon within one month of starting.
The post-holder will also provide cross-cover for essential services during colleagues' leave.
