Description
* Accurately processing payroll for employees
* Resolving payroll discrepancies and answering employee queries
* Ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations and reporting requirements
* Collaborating with HR and Accounting departments to ensure smooth operation
* Maintaining confidentiality and security of employee information
* Updating payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title or department/division transfers
* Re-checking payroll calculations manually
* Providing payroll information by answering questions and requests
* Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional societies
Profile
A successful Payroll Specialist should have:
* Previous payroll experience
* Proficiency in MS Office and payroll software, ideally Oracle
* Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail
* Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and payroll best practices
* Strong ethics, with the ability to manage confidential data
* Excellent communication skills
