Overview

Drivetech Contractor Trainer - Scotland Online

Help change driving behaviour, save lives and work with a purpose. Drivetech, from the AA, is looking for freelance trainers to deliver the National Speed Awareness Course (NSAC), part of the National Driver Offender Retraining Scheme (NDORS). These police-referred courses give drivers the chance to reflect on their behaviour, understand the risks of speeding and learn practical strategies to drive more safely.

As a trainer, you’ll play a vital role in reducing road incidents and helping people make better choices behind the wheel. It’s a chance to add variety to your schedule, work with purpose and be part of a national effort to create safer roads.

This is a flexible, work-from-home role delivering live, interactive online courses to drivers from a range of backgrounds and experience levels. You will facilitate engaging sessions that encourage participation, discussion, and reflection, helping participants with the knowledge to apply the course learning to their everyday driving.

Why become a Drivetech NSAC Trainer

* Flexible schedule to fit around your diary
* Diverse clients with different levels of experience, referred for various reasons
* Positive impact that contributes to safer driving across the UK
* Professional connections through networking and development opportunities
* Free training for successful candidates

Requirements

* A nationally recognised training or teaching qualification (e.g. Award in Education and Training Level 3 or above) or be willing to gain the qualification
* At least one year’s experience delivering training
* Excellent knowledge of the Highway Code, ideally with an industry-recognised advanced driving certificate such as the AA Diploma, or road safety industry experience (e.g. Approved Driving Instructor, Motorcycle Instructor, HGV, Police driving experience)
* Confident, engaging delivery style with strong planning and organisational skills
* Understands and can apply equality, diversity, and inclusion principles to ensure a respectful and inclusive learning environment
* Good IT skills

About the NSAC Course

The NSAC uses interactive discussions, group engagement, and practical scenarios to help drivers understand UK speed limits, recognise the risks of speeding, resist pressures to exceed safe speeds, and develop personal strategies for safer driving in the future.
