We have a rare and exciting opportunity for a committed Senior Nurse who has a passion for Community Services to join our Growing the Friarage and Community Collaborative in the Hambleton and Richmondshire Directorate. We are looking for a dynamic nurse leader who will manage and lead Band 7 nurses and Adult Community Nursing Teams and Primary Care Hospitals across a large rural patch in the Yorkshire dales.
The Matron role will work over 6 PCNs and Primary Care Hospitals and will work in close collaboration with the Head of Nursing, General Manager and Service Managers and clinical staff to ensure that clinical priorities and standards of care are achieved, supporting the delivery of local and National objectives.
The Matron should be a role model for the nursing workforce and actively and positively contribute to the Senior Leadership Team

Main duties of the job
This role will work in close collaboration with the Head of Nursing, Clinical Director, and Senior/ Service Manager.
The post holder will be responsible for providing leadership and management to Senior Sister/ Charge Nurse and clinical leads within his/her area of responsibility.
The role involves providing assurance of safety, quality, and patient experience.
Within his/her area of responsibility the Matron will ensure that a culture of cost consciousness exists, and ward/team expenditure is in line with budget and associated agreed efficiency targets.
In conjunction with the senior team the post holder will work across organisational boundaries to ensure appropriate services are in place to deliver national and local strategic and operational service objectives and standards.
Matrons will hold responsibility for ensuring the efficient and effective day to day running of nursing/midwifery within their designated area of responsibility, to deliver key quality, performance, and financial plans, achieving key service improvements and line management to designated staff.
The Matron reports to the Head of Nursing. The Matron will provide representation of nursing on key strategic groups internal and external to the organisation.

After you complete this four and a half days of training you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities, we offer further in-house courses dependent upon your role and bitesize programmes and leadership apprenticeships at level 3,5 and 7

Knowledge & Skills
Essential criteria
5. Management and clinical skills with well-developed leadership, influencing skills and the ability to engage, influence and motivate
6. Knowledge and a proven track record of recent operational and clinical nursing/midwifery management and the ability to be intellectually flexible and to look beyond existing structures and ways of working.
7. Knowledge and demonstrable capability of service improvements, strategies for infection control and transformational leadership
Qualifications
Essential criteria
8. First degree in a relevant subject
9. A Masters level Degree or equivalent level of demonstrable experience
10. First level registered nurse/midwife
11. Evidence of recent relevant professional development
12. Teaching and Assessing qualification
