Severfield Nuclear and Infrastructure have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Estimator to join the team, based at our site in Lostock, Bolton. The Senior Estimator will be responsible for pricing all activities, tender adjudication, submission documents, attending meetings with clients and obtaining feedback.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Estimator you will be responsible for preparing competitive tenders and estimates for large and complex building projects. In doing this you will consider different factors like quality assurance, materials, transportation, fabrication, and labour costs to name just a few. You will be responsible for pricing all activities, tender adjudication, document submission and meeting with clients, and monitoring the progress.
You will be a key part in the winning of new business, working closely with other departments including design, construction, sales, and contracts to provide the client with the most cost-effective tender information. Part of this will also involve preparing and delivering presentations to prospective customers and reviewing contract terms to existing clients.
This is a position where you are growing and maintaining relationships both internally within the company and in the wider construction market.
Experience:
You will need to have 10+ years’ experience in estimating/quantity surveying required, ideally, in a Structural Steel industry. You are required to have at least GCSEs in English, Maths and Science and a HNC in construction or a commercial qualification. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word and be effective at communication with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
Good understanding of Health and Safety policies and procedures is essential.
Hours of work are Monday - Thursday 8.30 - 17.00 and Friday 8.30 - 15.30.
