As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work primarily in a class of up to 8 pupils, supporting the teacher with learning, emotional regulation and positive behaviour for learning. You will help maintain a purposeful classroom environment, build trusting relationships with pupils, and contribute to a team that values collaboration, reflection and shared success. Monday-Tuesday: 08:30am - 16:05pm / Wednesday-Friday: 08:30am - 15:15pm Experience, Training and Qualifications Experience supporting children with SEMH, behavioural needs or additional learning needs Understanding of trauma-informed practice, emotional regulation and behaviour support GCSEs or equivalent, including English and Maths Confident following learning plans and supporting pupils 1:1 or in small groups Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive, trusting relationships High levels of professionalism, empathy and emotional intelligence Ability to remain calm, consistent and resilient in challenging situations Understanding of safeguarding, equality and data protection principles Personal Qualities Flexible, patient and nurturing Resilient and able to maintain a calm presence A team player who contributes positively to class and whole-school teams A good sense of humour and the ability to build rapport quickly Committed to helping pupils feel safe, valued and successful Eligibility Right to Work in the UK Enhanced child-barred list DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply) Ability to provide professional references covering the past 24 months What Prospero Teaching Offers Free accredited CPD, including SEMH, safeguarding and behaviour training Support from an experienced Education Team If this role is of interest, please send an up-to-date copy of your CV.
