You will be handling a wide range of calls in a challenging environment that requires resilience and emotional strength. You will support unwell and upset patients at their time of need, making a difference in their lives. This role involves dealing with callers who may be upset, angry, anxious, or hysterical, often in stressful situations.
This is a 24-hour role requiring full flexibility to work shifts including Days, Lates, and Nights, each up to 12 hours. All unsocial hours attract enhanced pay.
Assessment sessions and interviews are scheduled for the week commencing 22nd September 2025.
Main duties of the job
Job purpose: To manage calls from patients and healthcare professionals with emergency, urgent, and non-urgent needs. This involves triaging patients using the Clinical Decision Support System (CDSS) to direct them appropriately.

* To triage patient calls using the CDSS.
* To accurately record and update details on the call logging system.
* To communicate effectively with colleagues and callers, signposting to appropriate services when needed.
