This position is based at our Head Office. You must live within a reasonable distance to the office or be willing to relocate by the role commencement date.
The PR Manager will bring transformation and the stories showcasing the delivery of our strategy to life for our external audiences. This will be achieved through the creation and management of compelling content for use across our owned channels, partners and with earned and paid media. Working in our busy marketing team based in Amersham, you will be responsible for creating and implementing the PR and Content plan for The Entertainer and The Early Learning Centre and to support Partnerships and International teams.
You will have a great understanding of our values and our customers and be an excellent relationship builder internally and externally. A proactive, tenacious individual, with a can-do attitude, you’ll be focused on what we can do to meet our brand objectives. You will be flexible, adapting to the needs of the business as you maximise opportunities alongside a keen understanding of reputational risks and how to mitigate them. You will possess an expert understanding of PR and charity partnerships and as the face of all PR and community projects you will be expected to communicate confidently at a senior level.
The role will be based at our Head Office, but some business travel and occasional weekend work may be required. It is preferred that you hold a UK driving license.
Skills and Experience
1. Ideally 5 years’ experience in a PR role, in retail or ecommerce.
2. A track record in managing multiple projects with high level of attention to detail.
3. Ideally you will have experience of managing a PR agency or come from an agency background.
4. Expert understanding of PR and charity relationships, ideally within a retail and ecommerce environment.
5. Excellent people skills with a track record of building productive business relationships.
6. A relevant degree or equivalent qualification or experience.
7. Excellent working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
8. A positive, enthusiastic self-starter and caring personality is a must.
Responsibilities
9. Development and delivery of a broad and varied content plan that supports the delivery of our external corporate communications strategy.
10. Craft messages and produce creative and coherent content to support the delivery of key communications campaigns to bring the Customer strategy to life for our external audiences.
11. Act as a quality control gatekeeper to ensure consistent, precise and accurate messaging, tone of voice and look and feel in line with our vision across our content and channels for external audiences.
12. Stakeholder management; influencing and networking across the business, building key relationships and acting as a content communications counsel and business partner.
13. Oversee content delivery by the team across written, photo, film and digital assets for both reactive and proactive activity.
14. Work with agency partners and colleagues to elevate the impact and effectiveness of our owned channels through stand out and engaging content, including but not limited to, social media, retail and web (including international)
15. Develop opportunities to enhance and improve existing communications channels, and hand internal capability to create / enhance new storytelling formats, using Data and metrics to report and provide feedback/improvement recommendations on engagement good practice.
16. Support the senior leadership team as required with content delivery and counsel.
17. Lead the charity campaign strategy for The Entertainer and Early Learning Centre.
18. Manage direct relationships with trade and consumer journalists. Manage media enquiries and interview requests.
19. Work closely with the wider marketing team to deliver PR stunts and support events.
