Role Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and personable
Membership & Business Development professional
to join our experienced team. This pivotal role will be responsible for driving the growth of our membership base through targeted recruitment initiatives, while also nurturing strong, lasting relationships with our existing members. If you're a natural relationship-builder with a knack for identifying opportunities and a passion for the construction industry, we want to hear from you. This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Belfast and requiring significant travel around Northern Ireland meeting members and networking. The day-to-day tasks include developing and implementing membership strategies, enhancing member engagement, and providing excellent customer service. The Membership Development Manager will also be responsible for ensuring membership satisfaction, handling member inquiries, and executing sales activities to attract new members.
Key Responsibilities:
New Member Acquisition:
* Proactively identify, research, and target potential new member organisations within the construction sector.
* Develop and implement effective outreach strategies to engage prospective members, showcasing the value and benefits of membership.
* Conduct compelling sales presentations and meetings to convert leads into new members, achieving agreed recruitment targets.
* Attend industry events and exhibitions to network and generate new leads.
Member Relationship Management & Retention:
* Act as a primary point of contact for a portfolio of existing members, building strong, trusted relationships.
* Regularly communicate with members to understand their needs, provide updates, and ensure they are maximizing their membership benefits.
* Proactively address any member queries or concerns, ensuring a high level of satisfaction.
* Identify opportunities to upsell or cross-sell additional services or initiatives to existing members.
* Monitor member engagement and implement strategies to ensure high retention rates.
* Articulate the value proposition of CEF clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences.
* Gather member feedback and insights to inform the ongoing development of our services and lobbying efforts.
* Collaborate with internal teams to ensure member needs are met and communicated effectively.
Reporting & Administration:
* Reporting directly to the Chief Executive
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all member interactions and sales activities using our CRM system.
* Provide regular reports on recruitment progress, retention rates, and member engagement.
* Devise and develop membership strategies and marketing materials.
Essential Requirements
* A business related qualification or qualification by experience
* Flexible approach to attending evening net working events and
* Strong Communication and Customer Service skills
* 5+ years' sales skills and experience
* Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
* Experience of digital tracking of opportunities and data analysis to drive sales
