Digital Merchandiser Contractor (Activewear Brand)
Join a leading activewear brand’s eCommerce team as a Digital Merchandiser Contractor, helping to shape their digital trading strategy and ensure products are optimally positioned online to drive visibility, engagement, and conversion.
Location & Compensation
London‑based, 3 days per week in office. Pay: £200‑£250 per day, outside IR35.
Role & Responsibilities
* Manage end‑to‑end setup of new product launches, ensuring accurate listings, imagery, pricing and categorisation.
* Optimise product and category pages to support trading priorities, campaigns and seasonal strategies.
* Lead on‑site visual merchandising for key categories and homepages, working closely with Buying, Merchandising and Marketing.
* Enhance on‑site search and recommendations using tools such as Algolia (and ideally Nosto) to boost product discovery and relevance.
* Analyse site and product performance using Shopify Analytics, Google Analytics and ContentSquare, providing actionable insights.
* Continuously test, iterate and improve site layouts, filters and content to maximise conversion and AOV.
* Partner with UX, Creative and Development teams to deliver a seamless, brand‑led shopping experience across all devices.
Skills & Experience
* Proven experience as a Digital Merchandiser or eCommerce Trading Specialist within retail or eCommerce brands.
* Hands‑on Shopify experience – confident managing listings, categories and site updates.
* Experience with Algolia for search and merchandising optimisation.
* Strong understanding of conversion optimisation and digital merchandising best practices.
* Analytical mindset – confident interpreting data and creating actionable trading reports.
* Collaborative, detail‑oriented and comfortable working in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment.
