Head of Supply Chain – UK, based in our Kendal office. The Head of Supply Chain will oversee the organisation's overall supply chain strategy including tactical buying, logistics, warehousing, and operations, to maximize efficiency and productivity. What a typical day looks like: Ensure supply chain structure is adequate and robust to service the needs of the business and customers in all operational situations. Drive and control the overall supply chain process with a focus on productivity and continuous improvement, monitoring KPIs through a supply chain scorecard. Ensure accurate statistical and collaborative forecasting to optimize reliability. Lead procurement of logistics needs in coordination with purchasing procedures. Manage data analysis to reduce cycle times and improve value chain efficiency. Review and update supply chain practices to comply with environmental policies, standards, regulations, or laws. Optimize transportation routes and warehouse distribution for cost efficiency. Diagram supply chain models for customer discussions. Develop material cost forecasts and standard cost lists. Assess equipment and staffing needs for material handling. Evaluate vendor manufacturing capabilities through on-site visits. Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers and logistics providers. Monitor supplier performance for quality and delivery. Review forecasts and quotas to adjust supply chain activities. Manage integration of new projects into supply planning. Coordinate production plans, resource utilization, and inventory projections. Lead budget reviews and supply meetings with various departments. Calculate and communicate business performance metrics. Ensure procedures are fit for purpose and aligned with best practices. Lead and develop the supply chain team. Collaborate with global supply chain functions and other sites. The experience we’re looking to add to our team: Degree in business or engineering with 8+ years of relevant experience. Proven success in continuous improvement and operational efficiency in a large manufacturing or supply chain environment. International and domestic experience in demanding roles. Strong relationship-building skills at senior levels. Leadership experience in managing change programs. Excellent decision-making, communication, and negotiation skills. Engineering background preferred. Ability to handle strategic and operational details. Experience managing multisite operations and demanding customers.
