Role Responsibilities:
* Report to the National Safety Manager, providing leadership, coaching, and support to implement safety initiatives at operational levels.
* Model and facilitate a safety leadership style that emphasizes health and safety priorities.
* Offer consultancy and support to managers and supervisors on safety and health matters.
* Contribute to developing safety capabilities in line management, promoting visible felt leadership, and ensuring safety systems are effectively understood and implemented.
* Maintain knowledge of safety legislation, trends, and new initiatives affecting the business.
* Monitor and report on risk assessments, investigations, audits, and corrective actions.
* Advise and develop managers and supervisors to enhance their safety knowledge and capabilities.
* Participate in internal audits across Australian sites annually.
* Support incident investigations and hazard reviews with line management.
Candidate Requirements:
* Diploma of WHS or equivalent experience, with willingness to obtain relevant qualifications.
* Experience in a safety leadership role within high-risk environments (preferred but not essential).
* Knowledge of behavioural safety and Critical Risk Management programs.
* Current understanding of OH&S legislation and practices.
* Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and influencing skills, with effective communication at all levels.
* Willingness to travel regularly to Rockhampton and Townsville to coach site leaders.
