Role Summary
Lead the development and management of the Homecare Pharmacy Service for NHS Borders, coordinating medicine supply, engaging with national homecare committees, steering groups and line managing the homecare pharmacy support worker. Oversee improvement plans, report on homecare drug usage, spend and trends.
Responsibilities
* Lead coordination, development and delivery of medicines supplied via homecare.
* Represent NHS Borders at national homecare committees and steering groups.
* Line manage the homecare pharmacy support worker.
* Develop and implement improvement plans.
* Produce reports on homecare drug usage, spend and trends.
Qualifications
* National Certificate in Pharmaceutical Sciences, SVQ Level 3 in pharmaceutical science, Modern Apprentice Pharmacy Technician or equivalent recognised qualification.
* Minimum two years post‑qualification experience in a hospital or community pharmacy (one year may be spent in full‑time college education studying for NC Pharmaceutical Sciences).
Benefits and Working Hours
As from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part‑time hours will be reduced pro‑rata, with a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so pay will not be affected.
