Overview
Our client based in Huntingdon are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Paralegal to join their busy Conveyancing team. This is a full time permanent role working Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm. The successful candidate will support solicitors in handling a caseload of residential or commercial property transactions from instruction through to completion. This role requires strong legal knowledge, excellent client care, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
* Assisting with the progression of conveyancing files from instruction to post-completion
* Drafting and preparing legal documents, including contracts, transfer deeds, and completion statements.
* Conducting legal research and handling property searches (e.g., Land Registry, local authority).
* Liaising with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, and solicitors to progress transactions efficiently.
* Ensuring all files comply with regulatory and procedural requirements, including anti-money laundering checks.
* Managing case files using a case management system and maintaining accurate records.
* Handling telephone and email queries in a timely and professional manner.
* Providing general administrative support to the team where needed.
Qualifications and Skills
* Previous experience in a conveyancing or property law environment is essential.
* Good understanding of the conveyancing process (residential and/or commercial).
* Proficiency in using case management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage workload effectively.
* High attention to detail and accuracy.
* A client-focused and professional attitude.
* Law degree, LPC, or CILEx qualification – desirable but not essential.
* Previous experience in post-completion queries and dealing with the Land Registry.
