Are you passionate about making a real difference to the lives of young people? We are looking for dedicated and empathetic Relief Key Workers to join our team, providing support and guidance to looked after children and care leavers (aged on an as and when needed basis. In this role, you'll help empower young people as they navigate their journey towards independence and emotional well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide one-on-one support to young people in care, building positive, trusting and meaningful relationships.
* Assist with daily tasks, such as managing appointments, education or employment commitments, and life skills development.
* Encourage, support and empower young people to set and achieve personal goals.
* Support the emotional and psychological well-being of the young people, offering a stable, safe, secure and nurturing environment.
* Advocate on behalf of young people, ensuring their voice is heard and respected, and their needs are met.
* Work collaboratively with social workers, families, and wider professionals to create a personalised plan of support, and to provide updates on progress or concerns.
* Maintain accurate records of support provided and update changes where necessary.
* Adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures, record all relevant information, and report all incidents as appropriate.
* Ensure the home environment is maintained to a high standard.

About You:

* Must be aged 21 or over.
* Personal or professional experience, or a desire to work with young people aged 16-25, in a supportive environment.
* A willingness to undertake required training and qualifications relevant to the role.
* The ability to work independently and as part of a team, with experience of collaborative working.
* Understanding of and commitment to ensuring safeguarding and child protection procedures are adhered to at all times.
* Ability to work using company policies and procedures to update Support Plans and Risk Assessments using knowledge from both internal and external colleagues.
* A good understanding of the issues faced by Looked After Children, young people leaving care and or UASC (unaccompanied asylum-seeking children).
* Excellent IT skills, including use of Microsoft systems and online databases. Full training will be provided.
* An understanding of person-centred support, strength-based approaches and the importance of trauma informed care.
* Experience of managing differing behaviours of children or young people, and an understanding of the reasons for these behaviours.
* A strong desire to improve opportunities and provide positive experiences for young people to be better prepared for independent living.
* Have a positive, resilient attitude with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
* Have variable communication and interpersonal skills to enable empathic support to young people who have experienced trauma.
* An aspiration to foster an environment of trust and collaboration to enable a supportive, inclusive and positive culture.
