About the Role

Are you passionate about helping young people overcome challenges and achieve their full potential?

Teaching Personnel is looking for a Student Behaviour Mentor to work in a maintained special school for pupils aged 7–19 with social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties, as well as additional needs such as autism. The school supports learners who have experienced disrupted education and join the school during times of personal crisis, often requiring multi-agency support.

The school’s motto, “Together we can achieve,” reflects its commitment to helping pupils return to learning, take responsibility, and develop resilience. Teachers maintain high expectations and create a calm, structured environment where positive relationships and engaging experiences encourage pupils to thrive.

As a Student Behaviour Mentor, you will play a key role in supporting students across the school, working closely with teachers and pastoral staff to create a calm, inclusive, and positive learning environment.

This is a hands-onrolewhere every day brings variety and the chance to make a genuine impact. You will act as a consistent and encouraging role model for students aged 7–19, offering guidance and structure both inside and outside the classroom. You will build strong relationships with learners, helping them develop positive behaviour strategies, improve self-confidence, and feel fully supported in their education.

For young people who may be facing barriers to learning, your support can be the difference that helps them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
