Job Description
The Communications Officer, Corporate Engagement & Content is responsible for creating inspiring, engaging content that helps us in our mission to save nature together. Working with the Director, Communications and Communications Officer, Donor Partnerships & Content they will play an active part in positioning Fauna & Flora as a partner of choice for corporates. They will focus on both maximising the communications opportunities and fulfilling the communications commitments created by our funding and strategic relationships with corporate partners, in order to help Fauna & Flora maximise the value and impact of these partnerships.
Responsibilities
Communications for Corporate donors and partners
* Understand Fauna & Flora’s relationships with key corporate donors and partners and produce high-quality communications work to support the partnerships and help deliver our organisational goals (including financial goals)
* With the support of the Director, Communications, create communications strategies for partnerships as needed and lead on their roll-out and fulfilment
* Ensure close collaboration with the relevant partner point person within Fauna & Flora and with communications contacts within the partner organisation
* Working with the Brand & Content Creation team, lead on the creation and briefing of content to fulfil the communications strategies for corporate partnerships and outreach
* Where relevant, work with the fundraising team to create opportunities for staff or client fundraising and giving within the partnership
* Understand the priorities for the Business & Nature programme and create a communications approach to support their outreach, development and influencing work
* Working with the Business & Nature team to create content to support strategic relationships and collaborative initiatives with corporates
* Provide advice to the Business & Nature programme on audience focused communications approaches and delivery and create content to support these approaches.
Content ideation & development
* Contribute to the creative response to strategic briefs, working with the wider team to help develop ideas that will have strategic impact
* Ensure approval procedures are followed for content you work on
Create content for Fauna & Flora’s website, social media channels and publications
* In consultation with Brand & Content Creation Manager work to briefs, create high-quality written and multimedia content to support ‘own brand’ communications campaigns and other activities
* In consultation with the Website Manager, respond to requests to produce new website content, including drafting, laying out and proof-reading pages and posts
* Provide communications content support for special projects and campaigns as needed
* In collaboration with the Social Media Manager and Creative Production Manager, create content for Fauna & Flora’s social media channels, follow guidance on channel tone and best practice and contribute ideas to keep these channels vibrant and successful
* Support the Media Relations Manager with responding to enquiries e.g., researching relevant ideas and stories
* Represent the communications team on internal and external working groups as needed
* Create content and edit copy for print and digital channels
Engagement/Communications
Working with the Philanthropy team (both UK & USA) and/or Business & Nature team as appropriate to develop engagement materials for corporate partners, including:
* Develop communications materials in various formats; including leading on writing copy and proofing e-news, event invitations, as well as design (InDesign / PowerPoint / Campaign Monitor)
* Proposal and report development (writing/proofing/design)
* Work with colleagues from across the organisation to develop opportunities to showcase the impact of our work

Desirable:
* Basic film/photo editing skills
* Experience of working with or in the corporate sector
* An active interest or educational background that involved biology, conservation or zoology
* Specific experience adapting scientific writing for non-scientific audiences
* Experience of editing and preparing image assets for digital channels
* Experience of auditing, consolidating and optimising existing web content
* Experience of working for a not-for profit
* Experience of fundraising or marketing with specific audiences
