In this role, you'll have the opportunity to:
* Design and build a modern SPA using React, TypeScript, and Vite, with a strong emphasis on performance, accessibility, and usability.
* Deliver responsive, accessible interfaces using utility-first CSS (e.g. Tailwind CSS) and a component-led design system (e.g. Shadcn/UI or similar).
* Work with real-time data and streaming endpoints, integrating AI-powered features into the frontend using WebSockets and SDKs.
* Implement secure user flows with OAuth-based authentication and token/session handling.
* Optimise performance and delivery using techniques like code splitting, lazy loading, and CDN-aware strategies.
* Ship confidently with containerised deployments (Docker), CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions), and cloud hosting (AWS S3/CloudFront).
* Take ownership of quality by championing testing, accessibility (WCAG 2.1), error monitoring, and frontend performance.
* Collaborate with AI, backend, product, and design teams to translate ambitious ideas into polished frontend experiences.
* Mentor and guide other engineers, helping to level up team-wide frontend standards and best practices.
About You
This role would suit someone who:
* Has solid experience building and scaling single-page applications using React and TypeScript, ideally in production environments.
* Enjoys working with modern build tools and libraries such as Vite, pnpm, or similar.
* Has experience (or a strong interest) in real-time applications, including WebSocket-based interactions.
* Understands the principles of responsive design, browser performance, and accessible frontend development.
* Has worked with or is curious about modern state management (e.g. Zustand, TanStack Query), and knows how to architect state across complex applications.
* Is comfortable shipping in a DevOps-aware environment – containerisation, CI pipelines, cloud hosting.
* Values clean code, enjoys testing, and appreciates the importance of observability and security in production systems.
* Brings a collaborative, user-first mindset and a desire to help others grow and succeed.
