Are you passionate about retail, community engagement, and making a real difference? The St Vincent de Paul Society is looking for a dynamic and driven Shop Manager to lead one of our vibrant charity shops.
About the Role
As Shop Manager, you’ll be at the heart of your local community, responsible for the day-to-day running of the shop. Your mission? To maximise sales, customer satisfaction, and community impact while upholding SVP’s values and ethos.
You’ll lead a team of volunteers and assistant managers, ensuring the shop is well-stocked, welcoming, and efficiently run. From visual merchandising to online selling, you’ll bring creativity and leadership to every aspect of the shop’s operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Drive income through shop sales, Gift Aid, donations, recycling, and online platforms.
* Recruit, train, and manage volunteers and staff.
* Ensure high standards of customer service and shop presentation.
* Engage with the local community and promote the shop via social media.
* Maintain compliance with health & safety, financial procedures, and SVP policies.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
* Retail management experience with a track record of achieving targets.
* Strong communication, organisational, and customer service skills.
* Ability to lead and motivate a team.
* IT literacy and willingness to engage with online selling.
* Empathy with SVP’s ethos and values.
Desirable:
* Charity retail experience and advanced retail skills.
* Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok).
* Experience in the re-use sector and online sales.
