Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust is now recruiting for Senior Clinical Advisors.
Our NHS 111 (Integrated Urgent care) call centres are looking for experienced, enthusiastic and motivated clinicians to join our growing team of healthcare professionals.
We are currently only recruiting clinicians who are NMC RN1 and HCPC Paramedic registered. We do not accept NMC PRN Pin as it does not fulfil the essential criteria for the role.
We have vacancies at our Rotherham and Wakefield call centre with a range of rota's we can discuss with you.
The Senior Clinical Advisor is responsible for the assessment of health and clinical needs, utilising evidence based practice, professional clinical judgement, supported by decision support software, to achieve appropriate safe clinical outcomes for our patients.
Our multi-disciplinary team of staff provide a high level of clinical care to patients across the Yorkshire and Humber region, using telephone communication systems. Our clinical staff are highly skilled in the field of remote clinical triage and assessment, supported by computer-based decision‑supporting tools.
Training
You will commence your role on a training contract until successful completion of your training, following this you will then be moved onto a permanent contract. Training will be 7 weeks full time.
We do not have any homeworking opportunities.
Main duties of the job
Working as part of the Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust, we offer a high standard and professional service to our patients, supporting them by providing high level, evidence-based care, where necessary signposting to the most appropriate service or care provider including ambulance dispatch and the wider community based services.
As part of working within the IUC team, you will be offered training and support into the field of remote clinical triage and assessment, with opportunity to progress and develop professionally through a variety of CPD opportunities. Telephone triage will support your ongoing accreditation.
All time on Saturday (midnight to midnight) and any week day after 8pm and before 6am - time plus 30%
All time on Sunday and Public Holidays (midnight to midnight) - time plus 60%
Person Specification
Qualifications / Knowledge
* Registered Midwife or Nurse (Adult RN1 RNA, Mental Health RN3 RNMH, Learning Disabilities RN5 RNLD, Children RN8 RNC) or Registered Paramedic (HCPC)
* Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
* Substantial clinical experience in a range of settings. In-depth knowledge of a specialist clinical area
* Evidence of consolidating post qualification practice, preferably across a range of clinical settings
Skills and Competencies
* Effective communicator (both verbal and written)
* Ability to prioritise tasks and to manage conflicting demands on time and resources, to deliver objectives within strict deadlines.
* Competent and confident in basic computer skills
Experience
* Mentorship and clinical supervision experience
* Experience of remote clinical triage and assessment.
Personal/Other
* Demonstrates sensitivity to the needs of individuals and groups. Ability to make rapid clinical decisions based on patient care needs.

£39,959 to £48,117 a year per annum pro rata
