Ideal candidates must be drivers with their own vehicle and willing to travel, as well as being flexible and able to work weekends, due to the contract being nationwide.
Main duties of the job
* Ensure continuous duty of care to patients within the scope of training and competency, maintaining appropriate monitoring and treatment.
* Provide clear handover reports when patients are transferred to other healthcare professionals, recording all relevant patient information.
* Drive approved ambulance vehicles under normal and blue light conditions, adhering to service standards and road traffic laws, taking care of the vehicle, occupants, and other road users.
* Perform vehicle checks at the start and during shifts to ensure readiness.
* Maintain knowledge of all medical and life support equipment on vehicles, appropriate to the role’s scope.
* Assist qualified practitioners with equipment as needed.
* Conduct basic scene safety checks and risk assessments, working alongside other emergency services.
* Support qualified practitioners in delivering high-quality care.
* Gather and report relevant information from carers or others at scenes to healthcare professionals or relevant agencies.

Qualifications
* FREC Level 3 and FREC Level 4
* Recognised blue light qualification (e.g., IHCD / Level 3 Emergency Response Ambulance Driving)
* Full UK Clean Driving Licence with at least 2 years of experience

This position requires a DBS check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975. Applicants will need to submit to DBS screening for any criminal convictions.
