Homebased with travel as required
We are looking for a Commercial Assistant to come and join the Property and Assets team. You’ll provide support to our quantity surveying team across repairs, investment, and compliance workstreams within Property and Assets. You will play a crucial role in supporting financial forecasting, budget management, and maintaining accurate records.
Other responsibilities include:
* Assisting in the production of financial forecasting and budget management.
* Ensuring correct processing of valuations and contract instructions, and maintaining up-to-date records.
* Supporting the production of monthly financial analysis, including PPP exclusions.
* Understanding bespoke and industry-wide schedules of rates and assisting the Quantity Surveyor and Commercial Manager in responding to related queries.
* Assisting with pricing work from first principles and benchmarking costs with market data.
* Assisting with the development of commercial and contract processes.
* Supporting the reporting infrastructure to effectively manage commercial and contract arrangements.
* Identifying potential cost savings from each contract and collaborate to realise the savings.
* Assisting with drafting and issuing commercial and contract notices.
* Preparing monthly financial forecasting and exclusions analysis by contract.
* Supporting the preparation of cost value reconciliations for contracts, identifying commercial risks and opportunities to ensure correct contract management and pricing.
About You
To be successful in this role you’ll have/be;
* Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience.
* Construction/Quantity Surveying related HNC/HND (desirable).
* Experience in coordinating requirements and administering detailed solutions within a large organization.
* Knowledge of NHF schedule of rates (desirable).
* Experience in the social housing maintenance and planned investment sector or construction, on either the contractor or client side.
* Ability to interpret and coordinate complex commercial and operational data.
