About the role:
You will drive a lorry from our fleet of Volvo vehicles, all less than 4 years old, equipped with high specifications including fridges, leather seats, and optional extras for comfort. Most sites operate Monday to Friday, with 45-hour weekly shifts starting around 7/8 am. Our shift schedules are well-organized, often allowing you to know your route in advance, reducing stress.
This role offers job security within a growing, global business. We operate a busy fleet, providing consistent work and opportunities for additional hours at enhanced rates for bank holidays and night shifts (10 pm-6 am). You'll join a friendly team that supports each other, sharing traffic updates via WhatsApp.
Key Role Responsibilities
* Trust drivers to plan their routes with an average of 4-6 stops per shift, ensuring they are home at the end of each 9-hour shift.
* Ensure timely delivery and collection of cages, pallets, freight, stillages, and Yorks. Loading and unloading may be site-dependent; scanning consignments and driving pallet trucks may also be part of your day.
* Inspect your vehicle and trailer daily, completing defect reports as needed.
* Ensure all deliveries are correct first time, communicating effectively with customers and passing queries to your Site Manager promptly.
Candidate Requirements:
* Class 1 Driving licence
* Driver CPC qualification card
* Completed required DCPC training hours or working towards them
* Excellent knowledge of Road Transport Laws and a commitment to road safety
* A ‘can do’ attitude
