We are seeking a friendly, organised, and reliable Medical Receptionist/Administrator to join our busy GP practice team working across two practice sites.
The successful candidate will provide a high standard of reception and administrative support, ensuring patients receive a professional and caring service at all times. This position involves a significant amount of IT and computer‑based work, therefore applicants must be confident using computer systems and working electronically.
We are ideally looking to recruit two part‑time members of staff, each working 20 hours per week. However, we would also consider one full‑time member of staff working 40 hours per week for the right candidate.
Main duties of the job
* Greeting and assisting patients
* Managing telephone enquiries and appointments
* Processing prescriptions and clinical correspondence
* Maintaining accurate patient records
* Electronically registering patients
* Compose, print, mail and scan correspondence
* Completing administrative tasks set by clinicians and management
* Opening and closing the practice when required
* General administrative and clerical duties
* Supporting clinicians and the wider practice team
Person Specification
* Excellent communication and customer service skills
* Strong organisational and multitasking abilities
* Ability to work well under pressure in a busy environment
* Good IT and administrative skills
* Confidence using computer systems and working electronically
* Flexibility to work across both practice sites
* The successful candidate must be a good team player while also being able to work independently and use their own initiative
* Ability to work professionally at all times
* Previous experience working in a GP practice or healthcare setting
* Knowledge of the SystemOne clinical system
