Are you passionate about supporting young people who face barriers to education? Prospero Teaching are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate Tutors and Mentors to work with children and young people in Bordon and nearby areas.
Who You'll Be Supporting
The young people you'll work with may:
Have Special Educational Needs (SEN)
Be Looked After Children (LAC)
Experience anxiety, bullying, medical needs, or have been excluded from school
Flexible Hours
Vacancies range from 2 to 15 hours per week, typically during school hours. Examples:
5 hours: 1 hour/day (Mon-Fri)
10 hours: 2 hours/day (Mon-Fri)
15 hours: 3 hours/day (Mon-Fri)You can combine multiple sessions across different young people to build your schedule.
As a Tutor you will:
Focus on core subjects (Maths, English, Science), with occasional requests for other subjects
Assess gaps in knowledge and deliver creative, engaging sessions based on their interests
Build rapport through games and activities before introducing structured learning
Submit weekly reports via our tutor portal detailing engagement and progress
Help build confidence, self-esteem, and life skills
Act as a positive role modeAbout you:
Minimum 1 year of experience teaching or supporting young people in a UK educational setting
Able to provide relevant references
Passionate, patient, and committed to supporting vulnerable young people
Essential & Desirable Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year of experience working within UK schools- ESSENTIALTo be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:
Hold right to work in the UK
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
Provide references upon request
Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
