The role
:
Working with the NCSISS Technical Lead, draw upon NCSISS CSE SQEP to gain in depth system knowledge and advice to support individual system transition, minimising system down-time, whilst maintaining functionality and capability.
Day-to-day, you’ll:
1. Lead the planning and management of the technical activities in accordance with the agreed schedule and authorised base cost set by the Senior Project Manager.
2. Working with the NCSISS Technical Lead, draw upon NCSISS CSE SQEP to gain in depth system knowledge and advice to support individual system transition, minimising system downtime, whilst maintaining functionality and capability.
3. Ensure that the project is conducted in accordance with the Engineering Policy, Principles and Codes of Practice on the QinetiQ Operating Framework.
4. Support and work with the Facility Engineering Manager throughout the installations into the facility trials areas.
5. Support the Senior Project Manager in ensuring that TAF Engineering; Scientific & Technical (EST) Leads comply with NCSISS project specific processes and the terms and conditions of the core contract.
6. Managing the NCSISS tasking process advising the Customer regarding RFMS task progress highlighting any risks to task delivery.
Essential experience of the Principal Systems Engineer:
7. Proven experience of Naval Combat Systems and Combat System Equipment.
8. Modern system integration skills including equipment interfacing and interface proving.
9. Good team leadership ability with experience in directing a small team.
