Assistant Quantity Surveyor

About the Role
Reporting into the Managing Quantity Surveyor, the successful Assistant Quantity Surveyor will have ideally worked in a similar industry and have experience of working on Highways, Infrastructure or Maintenance Projects’ or be really wanting to take your career this way.
What you'll be doing
In this role, you as the successful Assistant Quantity Surveyor will be carrying out the following duties and responsibilities (not exhaustive)
* Being an integral member of the commercial team supporting the Managing Quantity Surveyor
* Building strong relationships with internal and client counterparts
* Engaging and managing sub-contracts including tender enquiries, award and assessment of monthly payment applications
* Effectively administering commercial functions of contract management systems to facilitate billing
* Working on client invoicing and debt management
* Ensuring all Tarmac and client processes are followed to minimise commercial risk
* Ensuring all work completed is accurately valued
What we are looking for
As our successful Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will ideally have experience of the following:
* A drive and ambition to succeed
* Have Efficient and productive outputs
* NEC3/4 knowledge - although training can be provided to the right candidate
* Good interpersonal and problem-solving skills
* Good oral, written communication; and presentation skills with strong numeracy and analytical ability
* Process driven with commercial awareness
* Able to work independently when required
