We are looking for a dynamic, self-starter with strong leadership qualities to lead a growing team that plays an integral role within the patient journey.
The medical records department plays a crucial role within the Hospital, creating and maintaining all patient records and ensuring they are available to all departments throughout the patient’s journey at the Hospital.
Following a successful period of growth and increased activity, the need has arisen for a Team Lead to aid in the day to day management of the department ensuring that the high standards are maintained. Continued growth and development of the team will be paramount to the applicant’s success.
The role will require you to manage the day to day running of the department, which will include but is not limited to:
1. Managing team rota, ensuring cover is arranged for all gaps in the rotas and personally covering any unfilled shifts.
2. Lead, motivate and supervise the team
3. Implement training to ensure staff have required skills to perform competently and are able to maintain the high standards expected of them
4. Carry out Process improvement exercise to highlight key areas of improvement
5. Undertake regular team meetings, and 1-2-1 performance reviews
6. Effectively manage the quality and flow of data coming into the department, in line with GDPR regulations.
7. You will be required to liaise with all stakeholders of the Hospital, such as members of the Clinical teams, Leadership teams and also Consultants and their Medical Secretaries.
Essential:
8. Experience in leading a team of 5+ members
9. Medical Records experience
10. Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills
11. Possess strong leadership qualities
12. Competent IT skills
13. Must be a self-starter, with the ability to make an impact with immediate effect
14. Commercially aware
15. Previous Process mapping/improvement experience
16. Change Implementation experience
17. Able to develop key relationships within the organisation
Desirable
18. Previous Healthcare experience
19. Experience of working in a similar, Patient/Customer note handling role

We take pride in delivering high standards of patient care to both private patients and the NHS. Our facilities include 44 purpose built en-suite rooms, 3 operating theatres plus 1 endoscopy theatre. Other facilities include physiotherapy and a diagnostic department. We are located in Woodingdean, on the east side of Brighton with easy access by rail and road, including free parking.
