Network Systems Engineer / Infrastructure Administrator
Location: Daventry, Northamptonshire. Hybrid work model – 2 days on site, 3 days remote.
Permanent role. Salary £40,000 - £50,000 + excellent benefits.
You will be working in a largely on‑premises environment and be responsible for 3rd line support, covering the full range of IT support including Windows Server builds, server upgrades, configuration and deployment. The environment includes Windows Server/Hyper‑V and Office 365, Active Directory and cloud integrations.
Responsibilities
- System and Server Administration – build, configure, deploy and maintain physical and virtual environments (MS Server, MS Exchange, MS Active Directory (incl. DNS, DHCP, GPOs), Hyper‑V, SQL, MS Failover Clustering, file & print and WDS)
- Network Management and Maintenance – configure and monitor firewalls, switches, VPNaaS platform and wireless access points to ensure reliable connectivity
- M365 Stack Administration – user management, licence assignment, security configuration and system health monitoring (Hybrid AD, Teams, Entra, SharePoint, Exchange, mobile management and Intune)
- Back‑ups – secure storage, backup and retrieval of data on disk/tape and cloud (Veeam)
- Patch Management – deployment and remediation of server/desktop software and vulnerabilities
- Endpoint OS Deployment – build and deployment of images
- Email Services Management – client configuration for Mimecast, M365, MS Outlook and MS Exchange
- Endpoint Security – anti‑virus policy control, agent deployment and overall platform health
- Centralised Storage – SAN configuration and management
Experience & Skills
Focused around Microsoft technologies with hands‑on experience in 3rd line support and working in an on‑premises infrastructure that includes server, network, desktop and cloud IT facilities.
