Band 8a Clinical Lead, Fixed Term 18 months

Do you love the thought of working in a rural, picturesque part of Scotland? Do you have experience in rehabilitation and are keen to lead, develop and support our Occupational Therapy staff? We have an exciting opportunity to join us as the Clinical Lead for the Angus Occupational Therapy Service. This role will combine leadership as part of the AHP management team and a clinical caseload within the community rehabilitation team in North Angus and will be based within Whitehills Health & Community Care Centre, Forfar.

Angus offers the perfect blend of professional challenge and quality of life. With its strong sense of community, beautiful coastline and countryside, and a forward-thinking approach to integrated care, Angus is a place where your leadership can truly make a difference

As Clinical Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of occupational therapy services within Angus Health & Social Care Partnership. This fixed-term 18-month post offers a unique opportunity to lead on identifying innovative, sustainable, person-centred models of care that align with our strategic vision and help create a service that is fit for the future. Working alongside the team manager within the local authority occupational therapy team, you will explore and scope how we can build a more integrated and collaborative approach to service delivery. You will also provide clinical and professional leadership for the community rehabilitation staff across all four Angus localities and will directly manage the team leads in each area.

As part of this role, you will join a dynamic and supportive leadership team committed to shared learning, innovation, and collective impact. Working collaboratively with senior colleagues within the AHP services, you will benefit from a strong network of professional support, opportunities for joint problem-solving, and a culture that values diverse perspectives and co-leadership. This environment fosters creativity, resilience, and a shared commitment to delivering the best possible outcomes for the people of Angus.

While the primary focus of this role is clinical leadership, the successful candidate will also maintain a modest clinical caseload. This ensures continued connection with frontline practice and supports service delivery. The caseload will include care of patients from the Enhanced Community Support (ECS) programme as well as supported discharges, rapid response, in-patient medicine for the Elderly Unit and general domiciliary referrals across the North Angus locality.

We offer the opportunity to work with people in their own home and local community hospital environments. The team enjoy a close working relationship with other members of the MDT and are actively involved in GP Practice meetings across the locality. You will be co-located with your Physiotherapy colleagues and work closely with the AHP Support Workers across both services.

Our clinicians are supported in developing the skills required to deliver quality care to our patients and fully involved in service development. Personal and Professional Development is structured via the Turas appraisal platform. You must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.

Are you ready to lead change and shape the future of occupational therapy in Angus? Apply now and be part of something meaningful.
