As part of this initiative, we are seeking an adept and experienced Part-Time Payroll and Benefits Manager to initiate and lead our in-house payroll function. This pivotal role entails comprehensive management of the end-to-end payroll process.
In this newly established position, you will serve as the primary point of contact for all payroll-related inquiries and will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless execution of payroll processes with precision and timeliness.
Accountable to the Group Financial Controller, this role offers a hybrid working arrangement, encompassing two days per week at our Birmingham office. Tailored for those seeking part-time hours, this role also involves extending support to our burgeoning international workforce in Europe, the USA, and APAC.

As our Payroll and Benefits Manager, you will:
* Lead the seamless execution of Friend MTS's in-house payroll, ensuring adherence to statutory and regulatory standards, precision, and timely delivery of the monthly payroll.
* Collaborate closely with the People and Development Team to handle monthly payroll changes, including onboarding new hires, processing departures, and managing any alterations.
* Skillfully interpret timesheets for hourly paid colleagues, calculating annual leave, processing overtime, shift allowances, and bonuses as required.
* Efficiently manage the setup of colleagues on our international payrolls, overseeing the preparation and processing of all salary payments on a bi-weekly and monthly basis.
* Take overall responsibility for the management of employee benefits, including private healthcare, pension, and life assurance, providing comprehensive knowledge and prompt responses to inquiries.
* Drive the implementation of enhanced benefits both domestically and internationally, fostering collaboration with Human Resources (HR) and accounting teams.
* Oversee the implementation and integration of a new payroll system, reviewing existing procedures as necessary.
* Serve as the primary point of contact for all payroll-related queries, diligently resolving any issues that may arise.

To be set up for success as our Payroll and Benefits Manager, you will have:
* Proven experience in a payroll management role or a comparable position, showcasing a track record of successful payroll administration.
* Current and comprehensive knowledge of payroll procedures and relevant laws, demonstrating the ability to stay updated on industry developments.
* Hands-on experience in the establishment and execution of international payroll processes and tax compliance.
* Familiarity with payroll software and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), such as SAP, ADP, Kronos, coupled with proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
* Previous experience working with zero-hour contracts, showcasing adaptability to various employment structures.
* Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and precision in all payroll-related tasks.
* Possession of an analytical mindset with the ability to effectively interrogate and interpret data, contributing to informed decision-making.
Nice to haves:
* Previous experience working in a multi-site environment, demonstrating an understanding of the complexities and nuances involved in managing payroll across diverse locations.
* Proven expertise in scoping and setting up a new payroll system, showcasing the ability to lead the implementation and integration of innovative solutions.
* Experience in administering benefits provision, indicating a comprehensive understanding of managing employee benefits and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
